Spring's Family
Education Day |
 |
|
On
Sunday, May 15, 2005, The Tri City Jewish Center and
Temple Emanuel combined their efforts at the Center to
make this Spring's Family Education Day a big success.
The theme was "Jews Around the World" and included
passports for each child which were stamped as they
traveled to the various countries. |
 |
|
The
children and their parents learned about the common
Jewish history of each country, but also many other
different customs, music (Cantor Karp got the most
frequent flyer miles as she flew from country to country
teaching Jewish songs) and food. If lots of singing,
clapping and sampling food is any indication, everyone
left totally satisfied! |

In
2004 the Federation sponsored an interfaith dialogue
entitled, The Passion of the Christ: A Film of
Faith or Prejudice?, surrounding a
preview showing of the film itself. Over 100 community
pastors and lay leaders from numerous faiths attended
both the dialogues and the movie. The results were a
better understanding of each other’s viewpoints and a
stronger appreciation of each other’s faiths. |
