Shalom Baby
Shalom Baby is an exciting new program sponsored by the Jewish Federation of the Quad Cities
to welcome newborn babies or newly-adopted children into our Jewish community.
We invite families who are expecting or have recently celebrated the arrival of a baby or
adopted child to contact us so that we can personally wish you a big “Mazel Tov” and bring you a
Shalom Baby Gift Basket that includes a:
- “I Love Matzah” bib
- Tzedakah box
- Child’s mezuzah
- Jewish baby bear stuffed toy
- “My Shabbat” baby book
- Information on the Jewish community

Outreach Program
The
Federation’s Community Outreach programs touch the lives
of thousands of students and adults each year. The
Federation offers presentations to schools, colleges,
churches, and service organizations within a 75-mile
radius to speak about Judaism, the Israeli-Palestinian
conflict, and personal experiences of traveling in Israel.
In addition, Allan Ross visits many schools, organizations, and
churches each year to speak about the Holocaust and the
lessons we can learn today from this horrific event in
history.

Senior
Program
The Federation’s Senior Program provides much-needed social services to the Jewish elderly and infirm in our community,
and well as sponsoring religious, educational and cultural activities.
The Senior Program includes monthly activities, which include outings throughout the Quad Cities and extended day trips,
and lunches with speakers, movies or musicians. We have taken day trips to visit the Lincoln Museum in Springfield and
the Illinois Holocaust Museum in Skokie, as well as trips to Chicago to see plays. These programs are open to the general
public.
Jewish seniors who are homebound or in nursing homes are visited on a regular basis. During Jewish holidays, the
Federation provides programming to nursing homes around the area. Companionship and socialization is a priority with our
Senior Program.
To learn more, please contact (309) 793-1300.
